Cherry Avenue & Citrus Avenue Interchanges, Fontana

Cherry/Citrus I-10 InterchangeSANBAG, the County of San Bernardino and the City of Fontana are working to replace the Interstate 10/Cherry Avenue and Interstate 10/Citrus Avenue interchanges. Both projects will make operational and safety improvements, as well as greatly reduce traffic congestion in the rapid growing City of Fontana.   • I-10/Cherry Avenue Interchange
    This project will replace the existing five-lane Cherry Avenue bridge over I-10 with an eight-lane bridge, from Slover Avenue to Valley Boulevard The project also will widen the bridge over the railroad tracks from four lanes to eight lanes and make improvements to on-and-off ramps. Two designs are currently under review, one of which includes a new loop ramp for traffic going northbound on Cherry Avenue to westbound I-10. Intersection improvements will be made at the Cherry and Slover intersection and Cherry and Valley intersection, as well as other local street improvements.

    I-10/Citrus Avenue Interchange
    This project will replace the existing four-lane Citrus Avenue bridge over I-10 with a seven-lane bridge. The project also will widen the bridge over the railroad tracks from three lanes to six lanes and make improvements to the on-and-off ramps. A new loop ramp will be added for traffic going northbound on Citrus Avenue to westbound I-10. Intersection improvements will be made at the Citrus and Valley intersection, as well as other local street improvements.
